A conversation
about a Tom Waits concert lead to the full blown animation
to his track, Big
In Japan.
Between the husky vocal qualities of Tom Waits coupled with
the descriptive lyrics, an image of the grooving Raptor
came clearly to mind, it was a perfect match for his
voice.
Much
of the challenge in its production is the creation of the
worlds & environments from scratch. From the satellite
eye view, the rolling cloud scape and right down to the
egg at the foot of the mountain, as much time was spent
with their conception as was with the animation. This had
won the animation grand prize with MicroFilmMaker
Magazine.
